You can sign up with your Google account so your Quillcap account username will be prefilled with your name and your public profile picture.

You can "Add books" in your Quillcap page and connect your Google Docs file that is set to share with a publicly shared Google Docs URL, this enables Quillcap to access the document and parse the document content to compile word count data to track your writing progress. This information is used solely for writing activity tracking features within Quillcap and is not shared externally.

By adding a Google Doc and using the writing tracking features, you retain full ownership and rights over your intellectual property. Quillcap does not claim or assume any rights or ownership over the content of the documents added or the books you are writing. We access the content solely to provide the writing analytics features, with your consent through adding the publicly accessible link.

We only retain collected information for as long as necessary to provide you with your requested service. What data we store, we'll protect within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.

We don't share any personally identifying information publicly or with third-parties, except when required to by US law.

We act in the capacity of a data controller and a data processor with regard to the personal data processed through Quillcap and the services in terms of the applicable US data protection laws.
